You should see something like this. At this point, you have already configured a simple grid. You are now ready to run a test remotely on Machine B. To design test scripts that will run on the grid, we need to use DesiredCapabilites and the RemoteWebDriver objects. Take note of the platform, and the browserName showed by the tooltip. We will use the platform and the browserName in our WebDriver as shown below of course you need to import the necessary packages first.

Import the necessary packages for RemoteWebDriver and then pass the DesiredCapabilities object that we created above as a parameter for the RemoteWebDriver object. Once you run it, automation will be performed on Machine B. It is a standard format used for interchange of data between browser and the web server. Selenium has an in built JSON config file that can be used to set up selenium grid.

NOTE: Selenium stand alone jar file and the json file must be present on the same directory. Step 4 The below screen will appear which indicates the hub is set up successfully. For that, we should note down the IP addresses of both the machines. We can verify whether the hub setup in the above step is running successfully or not by using a browser. After completing this step we can say that we have already configured a simple grid.

We are now ready to run a test remotely on Machine B. You can check from the above image that it has 5 Chrome, 5 Firefox, and 1 IE browser displayed under Browser section. It indicates that by default we can use up to 5 Chrome, 5 Firefox, and 1 IE browser. To refine the list of available browsers in the Browser section , we can specify an additional -browser parameter while registering the node.
